OUR CERTIFICATIONS

Overview

Gurmar is a perennial woody vine that grows in the tropical forests of central and southern India. Its remarkable properties come from gymnemic acids, the active compounds that interact with taste receptors on the tongue. Beyond its taste-modifying effects, it also plays a crucial role internally by supporting pancreatic health and promoting the proper utilization of glucose.

French: Gymnema
German: Gurmar, Gymnema
Chinese: Wǔxué téng (武靴藤)
Arabic: (Jimnima)
Spanish: Gurmar, Gimnema
Russian: Джимнема (Dzhimnema)
Japanese: ギムネマ (Gimunema)

Gurmar’s Hindi name, Madhunashini, translates literally to “destroyer of sugar.” This perfectly describes its primary, and famous, traditional use in Ayurveda. Chewing its leaves temporarily blocks the ability to taste sweetness. It is the foremost Ayurvedic herb for managing healthy blood sugar levels, helping to balance the Kapha dosha. It is also used to support a healthy metabolism and manage cravings for sweets.

For Blood Sugar Support: Mix half a teaspoon of Gurmar powder with water and consume 15-20 minutes before meals, twice daily.
To Manage Sweet Cravings: Place a small amount of the powder directly on your tongue for 30 seconds to experience its sugar-blocking effect.
