Overview

Zedoary is a rhizome belonging to the ginger family, sharing a close resemblance to both turmeric and ginger. When fresh, its flesh is a bright orange-yellow, but it dries to a lighter color. It has a warm, spicy flavor profile, but with a more bitter and camphor-like note than its relatives. It has been used for centuries in traditional medicine and perfumery.

● For a Digestive Tonic: A small amount of the powder can be taken with warm water and honey before meals to help stimulate digestive fire (Agni).
