Cassia Obovata is a flowering shrub that grows in East Africa and Asia. Its dried, powdered leaves contain a faint yellow resinoid pigment and chrysophanic acid, which is highly effective against scalp issues. While it is not true Henna (Lawsonia inermis), its effects on hair texture are so remarkably similar that it has earned its “neutral henna” moniker as the perfect non-coloring deep conditioner.

Often called “Neutral Henna,” Cassia provides all the conditioning and strengthening benefits of Henna without imparting any color to dark hair (it may leave a faint yellowish tint on very light or gray hair). In Ayurveda, it is used as a superb hair tonic to add volume, shine, and definition. It has antifungal properties, making it excellent for scalp health and managing dandruff. It primarily balances the Kapha dosha.
● For a Glossy Conditioning Mask: Mix Cassia powder with warm water or a herbal tea (like chamomile) to form a yogurt-like paste. Apply to clean, damp hair, cover, and leave for 1-2 hours. Rinse thoroughly for incredible shine and volume.
