OUR CERTIFICATIONS

Overview

Bael is a tree native to India, bearing a hard, woody-shelled fruit that contains a thick, aromatic pulp. The fruit is incredibly nutritious, packed with vitamins, tannins, and marmelosin, a compound that contributes to its profound digestive benefits. The entire Bilva tree—root, leaf, and fruit—is considered medicinal, but the fruit is most prized for taming the digestive system.

French: Coing du Bengale
German: Belbaum
Chinese: Mù jú (木橘)
Arabic: ل (Bael)
Spanish: Membrillo de Bengala
Russian: Эгле мармеладная (Egle marmeladnaya)
Japanese: ベルノキ (Beru no ki)

The Bael fruit is one of the most sacred and revered plants in India, often associated with Lord Shiva. In Ayurveda, it is considered a tridoshic marvel, balancing Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. The unripe or half-ripe fruit is a potent Grahi (astringent and absorbent), making it the ultimate remedy for diarrhea and dysentery. The ripe fruit, conversely, has a laxative effect. It is a powerful digestive tonic that cleanses the intestines and strengthens digestive fire.

For Digestive Harmony: Mix 1 tsp of Bael powder into a cup of lukewarm water or buttermilk and consume once or twice daily to support healthy bowel function.
For a Cooling Sharbat: Blend the powder with water, a touch of jaggery, and a pinch of black salt and cumin for a traditional refreshing and digestive summer drink.
