While not used for aromatherapy, Onion essential oil is a potent traditional remedy, primarily for hair care. It is renowned for its ability to stimulate the scalp, nourish hair follicles, and promote hair growth. Its high sulfur content is believed to help regenerate follicles and reduce hair fall, thinning, and breakage. It is also used to combat dandruff.
● For a Hair Growth Oil: This oil must be heavily diluted. Add just a few drops of Onion essential oil to a larger amount (e.g., 100ml) of a SUPHERB® carrier oil like Coconut or Almond oil. You can add other essential oils like Rosemary or Lavender to help mask the scent. Massage this blend into the scalp and leave for at least an hour before washing thoroughly.
